The Worshipful Company of Launderers Thames Cutter events

Since 2006 a team of liverymen and their accomplices train, compete and fly the Company's flag in the Great River Race.

A gruelling 22 mile race from Greenwich to Richmond, as well as other Thames river events throughout the year.

The Cutter's diary

April
Fortnightly “training” commences at Richmond, followed by team de-brief in the Watermans Arms

May - The Tudor Pull
The The Tudor Pull is a ceremonial event for Thames Watermen's Cutters which is organised each year by the Thames Traditional Rowing Association (TTRA).The cutters escort the Thames Royal Shallop 'Jubilant' rowed by members of the Company of Watermen and Lightermen, from Hampton Court Palace to the Tower of London to deliver a 'Stela' to the Governor of the Tower for safekeeping. The 'Stela' is a piece of medieval water pipe made from a hollowed tree trunk which stands on a base of timber from the old Richmond Lock and which bears the coat of arms of the Waterman's Company.

September – The Great River Race
22 miles of blood sweat and tears from Greenwich to Ham, and occasionally in the opposite direction.

November – The Lord Mayors Flotilla
A ceremonial event when the Thames Cutters welcome the new Lord Mayor of Londn, on the morning of the Lord Mayors Show.
