Well after the fireworks at the end of October, the theme has certainly continued in November. A sparkling start to the month was our growing relationship with the Company of Fruiterers, when I was fortunate to attend their Masters and Wardens Dinner. It was a wonderful evening within a warm and friendly Livery and my thanks to their Master Stephen Bellamy-James and Past Masters Rupert and David, for their hospitality.
There were no bangers, wiz bangs or anything else for that matter to be heard as Senior David and I attended the Silent Ceremony to see the swearing in of our new Lord Mayor Andrew Parmley. A ceremony steeped in tradition, it was a pleasure to be there and see the history of the City continue before us.
The following day began early for me travelling on the Thames behind the Lord Mayors Flotilla and going through the raised Tower Bridge with the wonderful hosts and extremely knowledgeable members of the City Livery Yacht Club.
Despite the rain, there were no damp squibs as the continuing double act of Senior and I walked with the rest of the Modern Liveries posse joining more than 7,000 people, 200 horses and over 150 floats in a three mile procession. Another great day from start to finish.
