So much has happened since my last blog that I thought it may be easier to share my diary
So here goes…
26th to 28th November – I pitched in with all our other kind volunteers at the Red Cross Christmas Market. A great success and as ever our thanks to PM David and Jane Hart for all the hard work they put in to organising this. Selling a wedding dress to a lovely girl who had just split up with her boyfriend was the highlight of the event!
29th November – I attended the Coachmakers’ annual dinner and little did I realise but they make aeroplanes as well!
30th November – was the installation of Keith Barley as the new Master of the Glaziers at our “Nearly Ready Hall”. Our best wishes to Keith for his year.
4th December – we held our Carol Service at our Cathedral and supper afterwards. What a lovely event this is and we raised a good sum from the Collection for Haven House, my Charity this year. Thank you to all who came.
13th January – My Lady and I along with Renter Jack Strachan and his Consort attended the inaugural dinner of 710 Squadron, part of 165 Port & Marine Regiment RLC at Derriford Army Reserve Plymouth Barracks. Apart from the lights going out from time to time, the evening was a great success!
16th January – both Senior and I attended a dinner and briefing at Glaziers, testing out the new basement facilities together with the Directors of Glaziers Hall Limited
13th February – I missed the inter-Livery pancake race and attended the WCOL Livery Leadership course arranged by Past Mater John Shonfeld where we were entertained by a moving presentation by Vikas Shah MBE and a very interesting talk on Smoked Salmon and the Olympic Village saga by Lance Foreman.
3rd March – of course was our first Livery Ball held at Park Plaza Westminster Hotel. Thank you to all who attended, the evening was a tremendous success and a special thank you to my Lady Susana and my Clerk Margaret, without their help, it just would not have happened. We also managed to raise over £6,000 for my charity. Fantastic!
8th March – I dined with the Worshipful Company of Hackney Carriage Drivers at Carpenters’ Hall and no, I did not get an Uber Cab there!
15th March – My Lady and I attended the Livery Banquet hosted by the Lord Mayor at Mansion House
16th March – United Guilds Service at St Paul’s. Always a special event.
