On Saturday, 26th July, Master drove to Marchwood, Southampton for the Regimental Dinner of  the  165 Port and Maritime Regiment.

Arriving early, Master joined the regiment for their Annual Sports Day cheering the teams from the side lines.   After a quick change into dinner suit, he joined the Officers in the bar area for a lecture given by Brigadier Brown on his work in a number of theatres diffusing IEDs.  This was most interesting as  he also mentioned situations which had not worked out well..

Dinner was heralded and guests were lead into the Officers’ Mess; the format is very similar to our Livery dinners.
Later nightcaps ensured everyone slept well for the return trip home on the Sunday.
