It was a fine, sunny, autumnal day disturbed by the late running of the train into London by 45 minutes added to which the Underground was not running due to strike action, so London was absolute chaos. Breakfast abandoned but gown collected and caught up with my fellow Masters and Consorts to visit a number of Livery Halls in the City. A welcome coffee break at Iron mongers’ Hall before continuing the tour around the City Halls.
Lunch at Armourers’ was another welcome break before the final leg of the tour finishing at our home of Launderers’ Hall all enhanced by lots of convivial chat. Back to Euston and the train home. 9 miles later.
