April saw our Livery join Lesley and me on our Livery weekend to the wonderful city of Edinburgh (pronounced “Embra”).  With perfect weather the thirty eight of us had a varied programme to take in and a great time was had by all.  The get together on the Friday night was followed by an early morning private tour of the Royal Yacht Britannia, giving us a fascinating insight in to the life of the yacht and our Royal family.  And a special mention to  Martha our guide who managed to allay the fears of all the partners by eventually getting the Launderers out of the laundry to see the rest.  Closing with Scones on the deck, this set us up for a day at leisure on the Saturday.

Saturday concluded with us visiting, learning about and tasting Scotch Whisky at the Scotch Whisky experience before a Scottish themed meal and entertainment sent us back to the Roxburghe Hotel with the bagpipes still resounding in our ears.

Mention of the Roxburghe Hotel,  who in recognition of their renovations causing the hotel to be “ reconfigured” during our stay, made a donation to our Benevolent Fund.  Our thanks to them.

Lesley and I wish to thank everyone who attended for their support and for what was a lovely break in Embra with friends.
