Firstly, I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity for this travelling scholarship. I found the trip to Berendsen in Copenhagen extremely useful it showed us the way different laundries are set up and ways to make our laundries more efficient, it helped me to understand different aspects of the laundry industry and all different kinds of machinery, I had only ever been in 1 other laundry before so this was a real eye opener for me. I found the trip to the healthcare plant extremely useful as we do a lot of healthcare work in our laundry and my current job title is decontamination manager for healthcare so this was extremely helpful it was nice to see the way they produce things differently to the way we do. I found the rfid system very interesting as it a very good way to track stock around your customers, I am going to look into this in depth more as a possibility for our laundry in the future. The people I met at the laundries and the people I met on the scholarship was lovely, Aimee, John and Mildred was extremely helpful we had a really nice time getting to know each other and bits about our laundries it was great to network with other people from different jobs and different types of laundries, I would love to visit your laundry to see a workwear laundry in action. Seeing the way Berendsen laundries work their big motto is efficiency, and I have now have a few ways to try and make our plant a little more efficient.
The best bit about the trip was meeting new people networking with them and I really enjoyed spending time with new people.
Many thanks again for the opportunity
