The election of The Lord Mayor, one Fair, one lunch, two church services, three champagne receptions and six trains ….. a long day !!!
Master caught the 07.32am train to London Bridge and two connections later to Cannon Street. Walked to Guildhall and after robing processed to St Lawrence of Jewry Church for a lovely service in a beautiful church before processing back to Guildhall for the historic ceremony of the Election of The Lord Mayor and to meet up with my consort Helen.
A quick change after the election and a walk down to Tallow Chandlers for a champagne reception and lunch. Then off to St Paul’s for the Musicians Company Annual Evensong Service followed by another champagne reception in the crypt.
Finally off to Goldsmiths’ Hall for a Goldsmiths’ Fair and a third champagne reception before seeing Helen into a taxi home and walking to Cannon Street station for the first of three trains back to Worthing, getting home at eleven o’clock.
And sleep.
